A cheesy, savory Philly-inspired ground beef skillet ready in under 30 minutes — low-carb, comforting, and perfect for weeknights.

Ingredients

For the Skillet

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 small onion (sliced)
  • 1 green bell pepper (sliced)
  • 1 red bell pepper (sliced)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce (sugar-free)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika

For the Cheese Topping

  • 6 slices provolone cheese (or 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella)

Instructions 

  • Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Add sliced onions and bell peppers; sauté 5–6 minutes until softened.
  • Add garlic and cook 1 additional minute.
  • Push vegetables to the side of the skillet and add ground beef.
  • Season with salt, pepper, smoked paprika, and Worcestershire sauce.
  • Cook until beef is browned, then stir vegetables back in.
  • Reduce heat to low and top with provolone or shredded cheese.
  • Cover and cook 2–3 minutes until cheese is melted.
  • Serve hot.
