Thin, crispy-edged beef patties stacked with melted cheese and finished with a thick, tangy special sauce. A simple, high-heat method creates strong texture contrast and concentrated flavor without the need for a bun.
- 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
- 4 slices cheddar cheese
- 1 tbsp butter
Special Sauce:
- 1/3 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tbsp ketchup (sugar-free)
- 1 tsp mustard
- 1 tsp vinegar
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp paprika
Optional:
- Shredded lettuce
- Sliced pickles
Heat a cast iron pan over high heat until very hot.
Divide beef into 4 equal balls.
Place each ball in the pan and press firmly to create thin patties.
Cook 2–3 minutes until edges are crispy.
Flip and immediately add cheese.
Cook another 1–2 minutes until melted.
Mix all sauce ingredients until smooth.
Stack patties and add sauce on top.
Add lettuce and pickles if using
